A secure portal for accountants exists because email is a bad way to move a client's financial records and everybody knows it. The records are sensitive, the attachments are too big, the thread forks, and six weeks later nobody can say which version of the bank summary was the one you worked from. A portal fixes the specific thing email gets wrong: it gives every arrival a date, a sender and a place on the client's record. The client gets one door, not a thread
Your client opens the portal, sees what you have asked for and what is still outstanding, and sends it. There is no attachment limit to work around and no reply-all with three people's accountants on it.
Every arrival is dated and attributed
A document that comes through the portal lands on the client record with who sent it and when. That is the whole point: the timestamp is the answer to most of the arguments a practice has with a client in March.
Finished work goes back the same way
Accounts, returns and letters go out through the portal rather than as an attachment, so the copy the client has and the copy you have are the same copy, and you can see whether they opened it.

Is the portal included or an extra?
Included. Tickmarko Pro is $79 a month for the whole practice with every part of it, and the portal is not a tier or an add on. Clients do not pay and are not counted.
What can a client see?
Only their own record, only the documents you share with them, and only the requests you send them. Clients cannot see each other, and they cannot see your internal notes.
Does the client need an account?
They need a login to the portal, which is free to them and takes an email address. We do not charge per client and we do not sell anything to your clients.
